6D/5N FLORES KOMODO TRIP

Day 1:
Pick up by our representative for your transfer to the airport to catch your flight to Maumere, Flores. Upon your arrival at Frans Seda airport, you’ll pick up by our guide and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Maumere-Moni (±100 Km):
Early in the morning depart from Maumere to Moni. On the way you’ll visit Wuring, a Bajonese fishing village. Afterwards, you’re heading to Ledalero museum. Here you can see the various ikat weavings of Flores, stegodon fossil and so on. From Ledalero, you’ll visit Sikka, the village which the first Portuguese colony. Here, you’ll see the old Church built in 1899. After Sikka, continue to Paga beach, here your lunch will be served in local restaurant. On the way to Moni, you will visit Wolowaru, the traditional house of Lio then to the hotel in Moni. Here the hotels are no Ac. Moni is cold and located just under the slope of Kelimutu.

Day 3: Moni-Bajawa:
Wake up early in the morning at 4 o’clock departure for tree color lakes of Kelimutu. A short walk (30 minutes) will take you to the look point to wait for the
Sunrise. Kelimutu means Mountain of the Spirits known for its famous 3 color lakes which often changes it colors.  It’s the dissolved minerals that give the different colors. You’ll have breakfast after return to the hotel. The trip will continue through the beautiful landscape via Ende to Bajawa with stops at Soekarno’s House in Ende, at the green stone beach Pengga Jawa, beautiful views of the Ebulobo volcano and before Bajawa a stop at traditional village Wogo.

Day 4: Bajawa-Labuan Bajo (±270 km):
In the morning visit to the traditional village of Bena. Besides still intact with the megalith stones and old houses, this village has beautiful views of Mount Inerie. The trip then continues to Labuan Bajo. On the way to Labuan Bajo visit Lake Rana Mese, Ruteng town, and spider web rice fields at Cancar. Lunch will be in the restaurant in Ruteng. Afternoon at leisure in Labuan Bajo.

Day 5: Rinca-Bidadari Island
Our purpose today is to see the Komodo dragon. This largest living lizard on earth lives on 4 islands Rinca, Nusa Kode, Gili Motang & Komodo and some parts of West Flores. Its length can go up to 3 meters with weight of up to 90 kilo. Breakfast at hotel and transfer to the harbor to depart for Rinca Island. This trip over blue tropical waters and past hundreds of small island will take approximately 2 hours. On our visit to Rinca island we make a walk (1-2 hours) with a local ranger in search of the Komodo dragons. Rinca is also home for wild water buffalo, deer, pigs and various species of tropical birds. Afterwards heading for Bidadari island and discover the splendid underwater world of these rich waters. Return to Labuan Bajo will take around 30 minutes. Upon arrival at the harbor transfer to the hotel in Labuan Bajo for overnight.

Day 6: Labuan Bajo – Denpasar (B)
Breakfast at hotel at Leisure until transfer you to the Airport for next destination.

WHAT TO BRING:
Dress is casual. Clothing should be light, preferably cotton with at least one long sleeved shirt and pants. Bathing suit, thongs or sandals and sneakers or walking boots, lots of film, camera, replacement batteries, and spares. Women please note Indonesia is a mostly Muslim country and custom dictates modesty. Please be well covered on shore excursions. Bring one light sweater or jacket as it can get cool in the highlands. Also bring sun-screen, insect repellent, sunglasses, sunhat, swimmers. Please advise beforehand if you have any special dietary requirements. Beer is available at local rates. Bring also your passport, visa, airline tickets, local currency and or US$ in small denominations.

FLORES OVERLAND-RINCA ISLAND

Day 1: Denpasar-Maumere.
Upon your arrival at Frans Seda  airport, you’ll be welcomed by your guide and transfer to Hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at your hotel.

Day 2: Maumere-Moni
After breakfast a visit to Wuring, the Bajonese fishing village. On the way too Moni you’ll visit Museum Ledalero. Here you can see various collections of ikat weavings from different part of Flores Island, various music instruments, and prehistoric animal’s fossils such as stegodon (massive elephant found in Flores).  After Ledalero museum, visit Sikka village, the first colony of Portuguese on this region. Lunch at Paga beach. On the way to Moni, you’ll visit Jopu, the Lionese traditional village. Overnight at Moni.

Day 3: Moni-Kelimutu-Bajawa
Early in the morning you’ll hike the Kelimutu three color lakes. It takes you about an hour to reach the pick. Breakfast after the visit to Kelimutu. On the way to Bajawa you’ll visit the Soekarno’s Museum at Ende and the blue stones at Pengga Jawa. Lunch at Ende. Along the way you’ll see the beautiful Ebulobo’s view. Before Bajawa a visit to Wogo, the Ngadhans traditional houses. Overnight at Bajawa.

Day 4: Bajawa
After breakfast you’ll visit Bena. Here you can see the pairs of Ngadhu and Bhaga in front of this traditional village. Besides, Bena also presents magnificent view to its surrounding such us mount Inerie. After Bena, you’ll drive back to Bajawa and direct to Soa hot spring. On the way you’ll visit Naru village. Come back to the hotel at afternoon time.

Day 5: Bajawa –Ruteng
After your breakfast at hotel, you’ll continue your tour to Ruteng. You’ll stop at Aimere to see “arak” process. Lunch at Borong. On the way to Ruteng a short stop at Rana Mese Lake. Upon your arrival at Ruteng, you’ll visit Ruteng Pu’u. Here you’ll see the Manggaraian traditional house. Before the check in at Hotel, a short visit to the old Cathedral.

Day 6: Ruteng-Labuan Bajo
After your breakfast you’ll continue to Labuan Bajo. On the way you’ll visit the spider web rice field at Cancar. Along the way to Labuan Bajo, you’ll enjoy the beautiful view. Lunch at a restaurant at Labuan Bajo. Overnight at Labuan Bajo.

Day 7: Rinca-Bidadari Island.
Early in the morning after your breakfast at hotel, you’ll visit Rinca Island to see the Komodo dragons. It takes you about 2 hours sailing with the wooden boat. There you’ll accompanied by the local guide in your adventure to see the Komodo dragons and other wild life such as buffalo, deer, monkeys, etc. The ranger will take you around about two hours. After Rinca Island you’ll go to Bidadari Island to do the snorkeling. Here you can witness the richness of the island’s underwater. Lunch will be provided on the boat. In the afternoon come back to the hotel for overnight.

Day 8: Check Out
Breakfast at hotel and stay at hotel while waiting for the transfer to the airport. If time possible, you’ll visit the Mirror Cave, just around Labuan Bajo.

EAST FLORES ADVENTURE 4D/3N

Day 1: Maumere
Upon arrival at Maumere on the island of Flores you will be welcomed by our local guide. Transfer in to hotel for overnight.

Day 2: Maumere – Moni (B) +/- 100 km
After Breakfast at hotel a visit Wuring a fishing village in Maumere. Afterwards visit to Ledalero Museum. In this small museum you’ll see a collection of woven Ikats and precious stones. Sikka is known for its old church date back in 1899 and Ikats which is enthusiastically sold by the local people. At Paga Beach a moment to relax and if you like you can swim here. Before Moni, you’ll visit traditional village of Wolowaru. In Moni you’ll stay overnight at Kelimutu EcoLodge. Rooms are non AC in this cool hill climate. At night you could make a stroll through the small village of Moni.

Day 3: Mt. Kelimutu – Maumere (B)
Early morning wake up call for departure to the Kelimutu volcano. A short walk (30 minutes) will take you to the sightseeing point to wait for the sunrise. Kelimutu means Mountain of the Spirits. Kelimutu is known for its famous 3 color lakes: Turquoise, Brown and Black.  It’s the dissolved minerals that give the different colors. Breakfast will be taken after return to the hotel. After having breakfast you’ll return to Maumere. On Maumere you can rest at leisure and overnight.

Day 4 Transfer out (B)
Breakfast will be provided at hotel. Enjoy the leisure until transfer to the Airport for next destination.
